Brief description of aims and content:

•The aim of this module is to provide students with both a theoretical and practical understanding of how operations, quality and logistics can be managed strategically in the light of external and internal conditions and requirements.
•This module will equip students with a framework for understanding operations, quality and logistics management as activities within the context of a firm’s competitive strategy.

On successful completion of this module, the student will be able to:

(i)  Explain the key issues in terms of operational, supply chain

management, innovation, and quality issues in the manufacturing and service

environment;

(ii)  Develop an operational, quality and logistics strategies;

(iii)  Recognize the importance of managing organizational resources;

(iv)  Use operations, quality and logistics management techniques and apply skills;

(v)  Identify future issues affecting strategy and operations;

(vi)  Strategically and practically solve operations, quality and logistics problems;

(vii)  Evaluate operational strategies

Assessment Strategy:

•Self-directed learning is evaluated by giving the students case studies they will discuss in groups, solve and presenting during class practical;
•Students will write on different topics and they will present them at the end of the course.
